2. IJA Officers

Roger suggested that the office of Newsletter Correspondent be used this year and nominated Karl-Heinz Ziethen and Roland Weise, of West and East Germany respectively, for the interest they have shown in the IJA and their contact with juggling in Europe . The nominations were accepted.

It was further suggested the office of Chaplain be dropped as this is not a religious organization. The suggestion was accepted. The duties of IJA Directors and Honorary Directors were discussed. It was agreed that Directors should be Past Presidents and other ex officers and form part of the Executive Committee and vote on important matters. Honorary Directors are not on the Executive Committee and are people who have shown an interest and have contributed to juggling and the IJA.

It was reaffirmed that the Vice President serves on the Executive Committee and officiates in the absence of the President, when necessary.

The dwindling membership of the IJA was discussed.  Doc Crosby volunteered to contact past members and delinquent members at his own expense and urge them to rejoin. It was decided to create the office of Membership Correspondent for Doc Crosby .

Eva Crosby asked about the IJA Scrap Book and its location. Stu Raynolds said that he has had it since the time he was Newsletter Editor. Since the Scrap Book was originally Eva's project, it was decided that Stu would return the Scrap Book to her and she would be the new Historian.

3. A nominating committee was formed. Bob Geer and Phil Berube would talk to members present and get their ambitions and suggestions for new officers.

The Sunday meeting was for the election of officers. Judy Burgess was the only nominee for President, and won a unanimous vote to become our first lady President. All the other officers were similarly elected, except Bob Geer who ran against Marcus Jones.

The officers and offices agreed to in Saturday's meeting were reconfirmed.

It was decided that this convention location was very satisfactory and Roger would make plans for a repeat performance next year at the same time.

The banquet Monday night was the last scheduled event and was attended by 24 persons. The new officers were officially presented. The Championship Awards were presented. Stu Raynolds presented his award of 3 fiberglass Indian clubs to the winner of the Three Clubs Championship Event, Tommy Curtain. Because Tommy already had a supply of Stu's clubs, he sold the clubs and donated $25 of the proceeds to the IJA.
