Happy 1982! 'Tis the season... to pay your IJA dues!

Annual membership dues were payable January 1, 1981. Here are a few helpful hints to make your renewal easier. For people who joined in midyear, dues have been prorated, and you owe the dollar amount shown next to your name on your address label. Everyone else owes the regular annual $10 dues - also shown on labels.

When dues are received, you will be mailed a 1982 membership card and IJA decal. Two types of decals are available. There's a standard surface model with adhesive on the back for sticking on props, suitcases or notebooks. There's also a reverse window sticker designed to be seen through glass (Le., a car window).

Please specify what type you'd like when you send in your dues. The surface decal will be sent to all people not specifying a preference. Extra decals are available for fifty cents each.

Please notify the IJA about changes of address. This can help eliminate the 100 or so undeliverable magazines returned by the post office each year. Thank you!

Winter Business Meeting

The IJA's Annual Winter Business Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 27, in Kenmore, NY, beginning at noon.

All members are invited. For further information, please write to Rich Chamberlin. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope or post card for a reply.

IJA is bound for California in '82

For the first time since 1978, the IJA Annual Convention will be held on the West Coast. The site will be the campus of the University of California/Santa Barbara, located on 804 scenic acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The town of Santa Barbara is a lively community 100 miles north of Los Angeles.

The facilities are large and modem, and the campus rooms have ocean views. We have arranged for variable meal plans with a choice of two or three meals per day and vegetarian fare available. All campus facilities, such as the swimming pool and exercise rooms, will be open to those who register on the package plan.

We have made arrangements to house up to 750 persons on campus, and numerous motels in the area have high quality rooms.

Convention dates are Tuesday, July 13, through Sunday, July 18, with Monday arrivals available. The following events will take place during that exciting week.

-Welcome party               -Business meeting

-Workshops                     -Public show

-Championships              - Benefit show

-Numbers competition    -Parade

-Joggling races                -Awards banquet

-Movie night                     ....and most of all, open juggling!

Santa Barbara in the summer has an ideal climate; sunny afternoons, mild temperatures, and a gentle sea breeze. So why not set aside July 13-18 and take a California vacation this summer!
