The
Michigan State University Juggling Club was incorporated as a
one-person organization by Daniel Sadoff, a student there, in 1978.
Official status in the University allowed free use of a well lit, high
ceilinged room in the Student Union and weekly announcement in the
student newspaper.
Membership
grew quickly, and over 100 people, including the University president,
have attended meetings.
Sadoff writes, "We are now an organization of happy anarchists. People with all levels of juggling skill attend our meetings. We get a lot of beginners, but no one has ever taken more than 20 minutes to make three or more throws with three balls. In good weather outside, we may rig a slack or tight rope, walk on stilts and rollerskate."
Members
of the club, separately and together, have performed locally, and done
dormitory workshops on campus.
Sadoff
says the Tuesday meetings are going very strong, and welcomes any
traveling jugglers to stop in the Student Union Building beginning
shortly after 6 p.m. |
