European Festivals

European jugglers planned two festivals for September - the fifth IJA European Jugglers Convention and an individually organized event in Valence, France.

The IJA gathering, organized by Jens Brix Christiansen in Copenhagen, Denmark, honored Bob Ripa. To be held September 10 - 12 in Grundtvigs Hus, five minutes from the city center, it is the first IJA European convention held outside of the United Kingdom.

For information, contact Christiansen at Bagsvaerd, Denmark.

Asthony organized the Valence festival for September 18 and 19. Events were to include his personal juggling endurance marathon (eight hours of juggling "many varied objects").

Asthony can be reached at Montee de la Limaillere, France.

ELK GROVE JUGGLERS PICNIC

Mike Vondruska's Fourth Annual Jugglers Picnic was to take place Saturday, Sept. 18, at Busse Woods (Grove 13) in Elk Grove, IL.

Great convention! My first and hope not the last!

Could you ask members about the man in New York (some place) who I read about (some place) who teaches juggling first to help kids learn to read? Surely someone has heard about this man besides me.

Myron C. Wilcox, Porterville, CA
