However, a period of unemployment in 1980 prompted him to try trapeze work and his juggling fell by the wayside. For two years he quit it entirely, moved to Toronto and performed with Circus Tivoli on the trapeze and trampoline. Though he now regrets missing the two years of training, the time was not entirely without its long-term benefits.

It was through that engagement that he met his wife, who had turned to trapeze work after training with the National Ballet of Canada. She began assisting him with his act, and went with him on a seven month tour of Mexico with the International Circus Holiday in 1982. They joined Circus Vargas together the next year and got married toward the end of their tour early this year.

During a six week layoff before signing on with the Hanneford Circus this summer, Eastwood practiced six hours daily in Last Vegas. Speed is his passion, and. he believes he can be faster still. With help from Connie and feedback from frequent videotapes he makes of his show, he has fashioned an exciting, technically difficult act. He was to take it to Japan for six weeks with the Paul Kay show toward the end of this year, but had no firm contracts beyond that.

Eastwood plans to pursue his juggling career for an indefinite time. He would, however, like to get off the road and into a long-term night club contract to have more stability and time to practice.
