Developed Club Passing Numbers For Six Lessons
from Die Kunst des Jonglierens by Nikolai Ernestowitsch Bauman
Note:
This is the fourth in a series, begun in the May 1977 and
June - July 1977 issues of the IJA Newsletter of a
translation by Velva Walden from the German edition of Bauman's book
which was originally written in Russian. These lessons below begin
on page 133 of the German edition.
Upon
command the participants. situated as in Figure 161. begin juggling
together. One gives a club to Four. and then one to himself. Four
passes a club to One and then a club to Two. Two juggles a club to
himself and then passes one to Four. Three passes his first club to
Six and the second club to Five. Six alternates throws to Three and
to himself. Five juggles the first club to himself and the second
club to Three.
The
clubs are all passed with single turns. All participants keep their
positions juggling in the pattern just described, and upon command,
while continuing to juggle in rhythm, switch to the following
pattern.
One
throws his clubs to Four, Four throws his clubs to Two, Two throws
his clubs to Six, Six throws his clubs to Three, Three passes his
clubs to Five, and Five passes to One. Three and Four pass their
clubs using double turns, and the rest all pass using single turns.
This
trick must be ended so each juggler has three clubs with one in his
left hand and two in his right hand.
The
next pattern is called "two corners." One, Four and Two
begin with an upward movement of the right hand and the left downward
to juggle. Three. Five and Six begin to juggle with the right hand
downward and an upward movement of the left. One passes his clubs to
Two, Two to Four, and Four to One; Three passes to Six. Six to Five,
and Five to Three.
All participants juggle in rhythm and with single turns. |
