assisted in the coronation of King Boreas at the St. Paul Winter
Carnival in January by juggling torches in the "Fire &
Ice" ceremony. They also plan to perform at Moomba Ill, the
annual boomerang festival in Duluth the first week of May. Others are
invited to join them for open workshops on Aug. 20 on the shores of

Mark Miller, an instructor at the US Army Chemical School in Fort
McClellan, Ala., is working to promote juggling in that state. Miller
performed for Gov. Guy Hunt and local dignitaries in January for the
Anniston Chamber of Commerce annual banquet. He's also formed the
Alabama Juggling Association to teach juggling to interested local
folks. An avid joggler as well, Miller logs five miles three times a
week.
Kit
Summers has begun presenting a juggling-based school assembly
presentation, "Learning With Finesse, A Key to Success," in
California. The inspirational messages he delivers emphasize that
practice can help you achieve, you can learn from mistakes, goal
setting is great and that juggling is fun! Edward
Jackman continues to work a heavy schedule of colleges on the NACA
circuit. Jackman had bookings for more than 35 educational
institutions in the midwest and northeastern states in March and
April.

The
Karamazov Brothers take their show
"Down Under" in May and June. They'll help celebrate
Australia's Bicentennial with shows in Brisbane, Townsville and Darwin
Australia in May. On the same trip, they've scheduled performances in
New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.
Marko
Dzamtovski of Brooklyn, N. Y., is performing the upside-down head
stand bounce of three balls off a drum head. He can also flash five, a
trick made famous by Bobby May. Dzamtovski is interested in
corresponding with people who can bounce two balls with their

First International Acrobatics Festival in China last October. Chotard
is able to spin nine balls on one hand through use of mechanical
extensions on his fingers.

Lynn wrote about the benefits of juggling as a form of
occupational therapy in the Jan. 21 issue of "Occupational
Therapy Forum. " Teaching one of her patients to juggle, Lynn
called juggling an "untapped source for improving cognitive and
perceptual skills. It intensifies and lengthens concentration and
attention to task," she said. For more information, contact her
at: OTR, Hollywood, Fla.
New Zealand's AI Forbes sends along photos taken 18 years ago of himself juggling eight balls. Older and wiser now, Forbes has published a book on 'The Homebuilt Dynamo." It describes a homesize electrical powerplant driven by a bicycle rider. Forbes and his wife, Julia, have lived a back-to- the-land lifestyle in New Zealand since moving there from Canada in 1962.
The
Cascade Jugglers of Seattle have begun putting together a photo
album of everyone who juggles at their meetings. The album will
supplement the roster and serve as an interesting historical record of
the group and its activities. Jeff
Taveggia's third place finish in last summer's IJA championships
has spurred him to make the transition from performing as a clown to
performing as a juggler. Taveggia said a clown job at Disneyland early
in the year would be his last in that capacity. A March - April
job on the Norwegian Caribbean Cruise Lines out of Miami represented
his first as strictly a juggler.
Taveggia,
a graduate of Ringling Brother's Clown College and clown performer
with that circus for several years, said he gained confidence
performing without makeup during the Key West Buskerfest in January.
He juggled up to five softballs and did torches on a rola bola for his
finale.
Reg

People's Marathon last August. Though he didn't finish without a drop,
he did finish in 3 hours, 45 minutes - good enough for 260th out of a
field of 500. Bolton is founder of The Suitcase Circus, an
organization that teaches circus skills and organizes. performing arts
festivals throughout Australia.
Another
joggler, Helaman PrattFerguson of Provo, Utah, had one of his
mathematical sculptures selected as a permanent addition to the
American Mathematical Society headquarters building. The "Torus
with Cross-cap and Vector Field" is 547 - pound block of Carrara
marble chiseled to illustrate the mathematical theory of surfaces.
PrattFerguson teaches mathematics at Brigham Young University. How
about you? We'd like to include news of your juggling activities in
the Summer issue of "Juggler's World. " Send in news
