JW:
You plan to stay around Las Vegas a while, then? AG: I'll finish my high school equiva
AG:
Sometimes I go to shows, but I don't go out of my way to see other
jugglers. Nick studies it and reads about it. If there's an
interesting article in Juggler' s World he'll tell me about it
and I'll read it. Otherwise I don't usually read it. I don't even read
articles about me! JW:
Bobby May autographed the back of a photo of you and him at the
Cleveland convention with the words "To The King." Do you
believe people when they say you're the greatest? Do you think much
about that? AG:
It's nice I guess. It's supposed to be a compliment, but I don't get
big-headed about it. JW:
You have a lot of natural talent, of course, but is your Dad, Nick,
really the secret of your success? AG:
I think so. I had to have some talent, put if I didn't have him I
wouldn't be JW:
Do you take pride in what you do? AG:
Yeah, I'm proud. To accomplish what I've done is a task, but I'm
proud that I can do it. JW
: You try this very tough stuff and drop very little. Do you have
any theory about why that is? AG:
It's strange. I'll do 7 clubs or 8 balls and if I drop that night
it'll be something like three clubs or five balls. I don't have
a theory on it, but it's not like I'm Mr. Perfect. I don't do perfect
shows every night. I don't even concentrate, so I can't say that you
have to concentrate very hard. I just pay attention to the patterns
and stuff, and I guess I have pretty good natural concentration. It's
something with your eye I think. JW:
Where did you get that hairdo? AG:
One day it came as an accident. I was coming back from Japan and slept
on it. It was all wet and just poofed out like that. I liked it, and
now I get it cut that way. |
