April 16-18, Florence, Alabama

The First Annual Alabama April Fools Convention will be in the palatial Appleby Gym at 19 Hermitage Drive. The festival site has excellent lighting, an ice machine, showers, lots of gymnastic floor mats and it will be open 24 hours a day for those who want to sleep there. The best of the weekend's "fools" will receive awards for their skills in various categories. Preregistration is just $10, or it's $13 at the door. April 17-18, Rochester, NY

The 16th Annual RIT Spring Juggle In will feature lots of activities Sat­urday, with a public show. The gym will be open Sunday, but no activities are planned. Contact Greg Moss; Rochester NY.

 

April 30-May 1, Winnipeg, Manitoba

The eight Annual Winnipeg Juggling Festival. Contact Jerold Weibe for more information.

 

May 14-16, Ft. Wayne, Indiana

The 13th annual Sir Isaac Newton Memorial Juggling Festival will be held again in Franke Park. Contact Dave Wilkins, chair; Ft. Wayne IN.

 

June 4-6, Lake Forest, Illinois

Chicago Juggles will be hosting the new & improved Spring Fling at Lake Forest College, an hour north of Chicago. This year you wil get more for less - lower prices, more options, more events and more than 200 jugglers. Contact Obediah Thomas at Chicago IL.

 

June 4-6, District of Columbia

The Baltimore Juggling Club, U.s. Department of Juggling, Bowie Juggling Club, and the Fairfax Juggling Club are joining together to host a Metropolitan Area Convention June 4, 5, & 6. A Public Show will be presented on Saturday evening, and anyone interested in performing should con­tact us immediately. This convention will be FREE, though a hat will be passed at the Public Show in order to defray the gym and auditorium fees. Join in the games on Sunday afternoon! (Including 4 & 5 balls for time, 5 clubs for time, speed passing, blindfolded juggling, and much more.) Door prizes will be raffled off, and The Juggling Capitol will be there with all sorts of toys. June 12, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

The Reading Juggler's Club presents its Sec­ond Annual Jugglefest at Kutztown University. Contact Dave Buase; Pottstown PA.

 

August 28, South Bass Island, Ohio

The fifth annual Club J.J. Jest Fest will occur in De Rivera Park in downtown Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island, just off the north shore of Ohio in Lake Erie. Juggling will continue from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, but the partying will go on all weekend so plan on camping out. The festival is free, but the ferry ride to the island is $7 round trip. Take the Millers Boat Line ferry from Catawba Island, Ohio, to South Bass Island. Contact Owen Smith or Jim Litzinger for more information.

 

September 1-5, Leeds, England

The 16th European Juggling Convention will be at Leeds Metropolitan University in Leeds, England, September 1-5. Organizers are planning for the largest juggling festival ever in the world, hop­ing for 3,000 people to attend. The Peking Opera and Ra Ra Zoo will give special performances and workshops. Registration will be about $40, on-site rooms with breakfast will be about $22 a night, and camping is free. October 8-10, Lodi, California

The 1993 Lodi Juggling Festival will again be held at Micke Grove Park and Zoo in Lodi. Contact Andrew Conway; San Francisco CA.
