January 30, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Drexel Hill Middle School Juggling 12th Annual Mini­Convention will be on this Saturday from 10-5. Open juggling, work­shops, contests, videos, videotaping, food and beverages. Contact Jackie Erickson; Philadelphia PA.

 

February 4-6, Atlanta, Georgia

The "Sweet 16th" Annual Groundhog Day Jugglers Festival will be held at an undetermined location. For more information, contact the AJA; Atlanta GA.

 

Feb. 12-13, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The University of Minnesota Juggling Club hosts its Fifth Annual MONDO Jugglefest. Two days of juggling, games, unicycling, Combat and general mayhem, along with a Saturday night show and party. Call Dave Linton or write UMJC; Minneapolis MN

 

February 13-26, Pahoa, Hawaii

The 10th annual Hawaiian Vaudeville Festival will be at Spencer Beach Park. Registration is $150, including camping (bring your own tent.) Food is an additional $125. Contact Henrik Bothe; Seattle WA.

 

February 25-27, Urbana, Illinois

The Eastern Illinois Juggling Club sponsors its Fourth Annual Juggling Extravaganza. Juggling begins on Friday at 3 p.m. at the home of Chris LaReau at 901 Shurts St. in Urbana. The festival moves to Eastern Illinois University's McAfee Gym in Charleston, III. on Saturday from 9 a.m. - mid­night and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Free registration, and a public show is planned. February 26-27, Blacksburg, Virginia

The Virginia Technical Jugglers will host the Third Annual Leap Day Juggling Festival February 26-27 in War Memorial Gym on the campus of Virginia Tech. Over three basketball courts of space will be available. Games and workshops will be run, and a public show will be held. Contact Chris or Tom for more information.

 

March 2-7, Tasmania, Australia

The fourth Tasmanian Circus Festival will gather comedians, magicians, jugglers and other circus artists from Australia and the world. The festival will be in Golconda, set amidst remote Tasmanian wilderness. The focus is on performance and training in a fun-filled atmosphere. March 12-13, Denton, Texas

The Tejas Juggling Fest will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Denton Civic Center, in Denton, with a public show at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's activities will last from noon-6 p.m. at the White Rock Pump House, in Dallas. Contact Rodney Barton; Hickory Creek TX or Logan Daffron.

 

March 18-20, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The UNC Juggling Club will sponsor its fourth annual convention in the Great Hall of the Student Union. Hours are 5-midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. ­midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday. March 25-27, Christchurch, New Zealand

The Second New Zealand Juggling Convention will be at Hagley College, just outside the city center. There will be on site camping, 24-hour jug­gling and a security area for personal belongings and equipment. It opens on Friday evening with a "Jugglers Jig," a big street party to be held in Cashel Mall right in the centre of Christchurch. Other activities include a public show. This event is being staged in conjunction with the Canterbury Draught Wild And Wacky Festival. They are supplying an Irish band for the evening and there will be spot prices and a chance to entertain the people of Christchurch. April 6-10, Manchester, England

The Seventh British Juggling Convention will include games, parade, workshops, public show and possibly a three ball endurance record attempt. Festival organizers have full support of the Manchester city council, so there will be places to busk in the center city and plenty of publicity. April 8-10, Tallahassee, Florida

The 8th Annual April Fools Day Juggling Festival. Saturday 2 p.m. competition, Sunday 2 p.m. public show, On Sat night there will be the now-traditional bring-your-own-attorney Jugglers party. Contact Gregory Cohen. Some crash space available on a first-come first-serve basis.

 

April 16-17, Rochester, NY

The 17th Annual RIT Spring Juggle In at RIT's Clark Gym will feature lots of activities Saturday, with a public show Saturday night. The gym will be open Sunday, but no activities are planned. Contact Greg Moss; Rochester NY.

 

May 13-15, Fort Wayne, Indiana

The 14th Annual Sir Isaac Newton Memorial Juggling Festival will be held at Franke Park Pavilion #1 in Fort Wayne. Contact Dave Wilkins; Fort Wayne IN.

 

June 18, Everywhere!

This day marks the IJA sponsored World Juggling Day. Help support the effort and gear up for Burlington by sponsoring a juggling festival for the public in your hometown! Contact IJA affiliates director Jek Kelly; Omaha NE.

 

June 11, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

August 9-14, Burlington, Vermont

The 47th Annual Festival of the International Jugglers Association. The registration form and full information will be included in the next issue of Juggler's World. In the meantime, call Ginny Rose for more information.
