Vegas Winterfest in Stereo

by Duane Starcher

These stereo images were taken with a Stereo-Realist 35mm camera made in the early1950s and a top-mounted Vivitar flash. A collection of other stereo juggling shots from the 1997 WinterFest can be found on my web pages.   Like the pictures on web site, the images here are mounted in the cross-eyed viewing format. To view the full stereo information, cross your eyes slightly until the two images merge into a single center three- dimensional image. You may at first find it easier to hold the page at normal viewing distance in front of you with one hand and hold your other thumb about five or six inches in front of your nose. Focus on your thumb, then let your eyes drift over it to the image behind. Vary the distance of your thumb to your nose until you begin to see a complete central image behind it on the page. Learning to view images cross-eyed will take a bit of practice but, once you get it (like learning the cascade), you will be able to do it at will with little effort or eye-strain.
