The first European Juggling Convention — also known as the "first European IJA mini-convention" — was held in Brighton, England, 15-16 April 1978, organized by IJA member Lynn Thomas.

There were 11 jugglers in attendance: 9 came on Saturday and 2 more showed up on Sunday. All 11 performed in Sunday's public show before an audience of 200.
