* A site for the new juggling pavilion at the Bellyacres juggling community in Hawaii had just been cleared as Benji Marantz spoke from there. He spent the winter in Hawaii , but was on the way to Boston for the summer. One of his first jobs was to choreograph a 20-minute fire show as part of the Faneuil Hall Street Performers Festival on Memorial Day. The festival, which included a performance by Tony Montanaro, kicked off the street performers season at Faneuil Hall. Marantz will be working in the region with Cyrus P. Koski, Flip and Jeannie Wall. He and Wall present their torch passing routine as "passions of flame." Marantz plays the part of Pierre Escargot on a sixfoot unicycle. He passes passionately with Wall, who kicks up a mighty high step as a French can-can dancer on three-foot stilts - complete with fishnet stockings!

* The new Monmouth County, N.J., Jugglers Association came up with a unique event. In honor of one of today' s great jugglers they staged an "Anthony Gatto's Birthday Numbers Challenge." Club leader Jay Roth won the event by juggling six balls, six rings and five clubs.

* Michael Holly performs a comedy juggling act at the Marina Hotel in Las Vegas . It includes two bowling balls and an M&M candy piece, five balls and a routine with an apple, hatchet and bowling ball.

* Also in Las Vegas, at the Holiday Casino, Willy & Stron team member Charles Stron has added a free-standing slack rope rig to his prop case. He's able to juggle three clubs while riding a unicycle on it, and is relieved now to not have to worry about finding places on stages to attach his rope.

* J.W. Ross, a 62-year-old retiree from Marshalltown, Iowa, is finally doing just what he always wanted to do. Ross puts on a juggling, clowning, magic and dog show with the help of his canine friends, Barney and Bernie. They have appeared in schools, churches and on television across the state.

* A film crew from George Schlatter productions followed Edward Jackman's performance circuit for about ten days in April. Jackman will be the subject of the debut of Schlatter's new "Funny People" show, which will air on NBC on July 27.
