Kremo Will Receive IJA Award at LA Convention

By Ginny Rose & Sandy Brown, 1990 Convention Co-planners

We recently flew to LA to button down the details for the 1990 IJA Convention at UCLA. All systems are GO for July 17-22! We're proud to announce that our honored guest -- coming all the way from the Lido in Paris--will be Kris Kremo. Kremo has been juggling at the New Fujiya Hotel in Atami, Japan, but will begin at the Lido at the end of February. In Los Angeles the IJA will give him the IJA Award of Excellence, and he will perform at the Public Show at Royce Hall on the campus.

In accordance with UCLA's housing and registration regulations, all jugglers residing in the residence halls must:

+ Pre-register by June 1 or you will NOT have a room for the week

+ Purchase the mandatory breakfastlunch-dinner meal plan

+ Choose from 3 options:

#1 arrive Tuesday-depart Sunday;

#2 arrive Tuesday-depart Friday;

#3 arrive Thursday-depart Sunday.

+ Adhere to UCLA's fail-safe building security measures. Computerized magnetic access cards are used to gain entry into the residence halls after 8:00 PM. During this time, only registered guests are allowed into the building.

+ Pay $4.00 per day per entry for parking. Since UCLA is an urban university, parking is allowed only in controlled lots. Campers and RV owners should inquire early for a list of off-campus camping and RV parks (beautiful sites!)

As always, there will be an activities package and day passes for those jugglers who are staying off campus.

Your round trip airfares and custom group tours are a phone call away with ASUCLA Travel Services. A discounted air fare will be offered by American Airlines.

Thanks to the Southern California jugglers, the convention will be true-blue California style. Go West, young jugglers! Go West! West with the IJA into the '90s with our 43rd Annual Convention in Los Angeles!
