* The screen adaptation of Jane Austen's "Persuasion" has, near the end, a parade featuring a live apple strolling juggler. He is shortly thereafter followed by a three machete juggler.

* Young Pennsylvania juggler Joann Swaim performs on the July 23 episode of the popular public television series, "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood." She taped the show in November, and appears for about two minutes doing tricks with from three to seven beanbags, including her trademark .Swaim's Square." She and her father, Bob Swaim, report that Mr. Rogers is as kind in person as he appears to be on the show. Though the famous host could not juggle when the Swaims visIted with him, they gave him three beanbags with which to practice. Joann, 16, is now working on eight balls in hopes of maintaining her ability to juggle half her age!

* The Raspyni Brothers, Barry Friedman and Dan Holzman, made two appearances on the Nashville Network's "Music City Tonight" show in September.

* Russian juggler Sergei Ignatov, who received the IJAS Award of Excellence in 1991, was honored with the Platinum Ring trophy at the third Gran Premio Internazionale del Circo last April. Ignatov did not compete in the festival, but was its invited honored guest.

* Congratulations to Mark and Scott Nizer, who added a second daughter to their family November 3 when Madison Whitehead Neisser was born in Tarzana , Calif. Big sister Haley is helping out to try to keep the Nizer compound running smoothing.

* Congratulations to lJA chief administrative officer Norman Schneiderman, who was married November 14 to the former Becky Dell in the city of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The couple met at the Burlington festival, when she was working at the Flynn Theater and was, according to Norm, "swept off her feet by my walkie talkie." They worked the door together at the Las Vegas festival last summer, and were married this past summer.

* Last issue's review of the book, "Four Ball Juggling," by Martin Probert, omitted ordering information. In the U.S. the book is available from Brian Dube, The Complete Gamester and other juggling shops. It is also available worldwide postpaid from the publisher: Veronika Probert, Plymouth, U.K. by sending 16.95 pounds sterling international money order (from major banks or Thos Cooke). Add 1.80 pounds for air mail.

* In addition, three of the festival photos in the Fall edition were incorrectly attributed. The pictures of John Foss and The Passing Zone on page 27 were taken by Csiszar, "The Great Ballini." The picture of Doubble Troubble on page 25 was taken by David Carper.
