Explore the still relatively untapped potential of multiplexes in this workshop. Stacked, split, tri-plex variations will all be taught, along with Mills Mess possibilities. The merging of siteswap and multiplexing juggling provides us with rich opportunities for creation of visually stunning patterns.

5 Balls: The Easy Way Tuesday 2pm- North Main Hall D

Prerequisite - You must juggle three balls. Learn to juggle five balls in the cascade by going step by step with the help of a partner. We'll supply the partner. This is a hands-on practice session, not a theoretical discussion. If you already juggle five balls for 30 throws or more, this is not for you. This is not a multiplex class.

Don't just stand on the floor, use it to add a new dimension to your juggling. This workshop will cover basic 3-ball bounce patterns & tricks, easy multiplex bounces, spin, and discuss other surfaces to bounce things off of. Students must bring 3 bounce-friendly balls to class.

A patient instructor shows you simple ways to learn a series of basic club tricks that are the building blocks of more complicated tricks. Even if your three club cascade is still a bit shaky, you can still learn the basic one club movements.

It is difficult to figure out chops just by watching someone do it. This workshop demystifies the trick by breaking the pattern down into easy to practice segments.

Passing Madness: R&L Handed Club Passing Patterns Tuesday 2pm- North Main Hall B-C

For the 21st consecutive IJA summer fest, Martin Frost will teach both-handed club passing patterns that may not drive you mad and, with his SJRI partners, will demonstrate some patterns from beyond imagination.

Doubles, Triples, & More in Passing Patterns Tuesday 3pm- North Main Hall F

This workshop focuses on multiple count throws either to your partner(s) or to yourself for standard (and many non-standard) passing patterns. This is for jugglers who can pass 6 balls, clubs, ring, gorillas, whatever. (Beginners & Intermediates).

This is a two-hour club passing pattern workshop. YOU will be doing all the patterns. You must be able to pass clubs in order for you to participate. You will do...triangles, feeds, feed change, carousel, tic tac w/a walk through, "Y', in line, feast, rotating feed, buffalo, star, fork, hey...all FUN & SIMPLE.

This workshop covers the moves everyone wants to learn. A review of the cross-follow variations and then on to the Lower Fountain on our way to the Full Fountain and its variations, along with a few surprises and sharing of tricks. Knowing the cross-follow in both directions will be very helpful, but we will cover this material in the workshop.

group. This workshop addresses the question of ways to try new patterns
while keeping it interesting for everyone.

In this workshop we will learn to take (borrow) and replace clubs out of
a standard 4-count (every-others) pattern. We will need some fairly
skilled 4-count passers but all skill levels (even non-jugglers) can be
active in this workshop.

Zips and Zaps are fast throws to yourself or a partner. In this
Workshop we will do some club passing patterns to help develop this skill.
The workshop is aimed at intermediate to advanced club passers and will
use both the left and right hand passing.

This workshop will cover the basics of whip cracking, including safety, buying a whip, basic and advanced cracks, and performance tricks such as targeting and wraps. Bring a whip to practice with if you have one, though we have loaners for people who don't.

Join Keith Bindlestiff and special guest Angelo Iodice for fun with knots and ropes. The workshop will include a few basic knot throws and an exploration of trick roping. We will offer help on flat loops, wedding rings, butterflies, Texas skips, and assistance for more advanced tricks. Beginners to advanced rope spinners are encouraged to attend. Ropes will be available for use.

The workshop will cover everything from single hat tricks to multiple hat manipulations. I will be covering some of the many different elements such as: terminology, grips, flips, rolls and body moves. May also include some 2 man or multi partner hat move. There will be a hat breakout at the end.

How to use Balloon Art to Enhance Your Juggling Career Friday 2pm- North Main Hall E

This workshop will teach you several intermediate balloon creations that will stun your audiences. We will also discuss ideas on how to use balloon art to supplement and enhance your juggling performances to get you more shows for more money. Bring your own balloons and pumps.

Mark will be taking hula hooping into the vertical plane, combining ideas from juggling, twirling and balance with traditional hula ideas. Make sure you come and check out the hula 'isolations'.

Steve is a 10 year member of IATSE (International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees) and a professional performer for over 20 years. He will cover information concerning: lighting design, microphones and sound quality, stage direction as well as the proper theater terminology, so that you can communicate with stage crew in their language. This is a good class for performers or for people who want to learn more about the technical aspects of stage performing.

Beginning Pirouettes Friday 11am- North Exhibit Hall

The basic mechanics of spinning will be demonstrated and experienced, with simple explanations and brief exercises. Everyone can leave doing something of a presentable rotation for juggling, with a broad understanding of how to develop further.

I was trained in January by Al Gore to present his slides. I've started a new not for profit foundation and have designed and tested a new program to take to Elementary Schools nationwide giving kids and teachers an experiential introduction to Climate Change. I use Al's slides and knowledge about how kids learn through moving that I've put to use in Juggling for Success for 30 years. The result is a two day program for schools. On day one I present Juggling for Success. On day two I present Climate Change is Elementary. If you are interested in climate change and if you love working with kids, please come and hear about it.

Dave will lead a discussion about how to enhance communications with the IJA. We will discuss how to use the forums to involve more members. We also will discuss how to use other areas of the IJA website to enhance communications within the juggling community, resulting in a win/win for content providers and readers.
