JIM DANDY WRITES (1/25/71)

Dear Roger: For some time I wanted to write you a few words. Hope you are fine, as we are. I have gone back to show business full time and pave been doing fine. Inclosed are a couple of photos from TV shows in Mexico City. I thought you would be interested in putting them in the Newsletter. The pictures were taken in Dec. 1970 and I am sure they would be of interest as the tricks are my originals and only executed by me.

In the USA I have appeared under the names of "Maysay and Brach", then "Labrac and Bernice'I, and now "Jim Dandy."

As you know my balance of the dollar bill and the ball point pen on the nose is first done in a rock on the unicycle, then from there I drive around. With a spinning plate on a stick balanced on another stick held in my hand I do the same. This trick you did not see me do but it is also very effective. My 12 hoop balance and spinning trick you know-you have your own pictures of it. I had these pictures taken with you and the Newsletter in mind.

You know I was born and raised in show business and have been on stage since I was 4 years old. (Jess is now in his 60's-RVD). Regards from Gertrud. Best wishes, Jim Dandy

BRUCE NELSON WRITES (2/22/71)

"I have just received my copy of the juggling news letter, and as usual I find it boring drivel. I joined the juggling assoc. with the hope of learning something, such as gag routines, or building props, etc. but to no avail.

It would seem to me that with the so-called talent involved in the assoc., that members could be called upon to write articles providing information for the novice.

Since books on juggling are few and far between, an assoc. like this one should accept the challenge of providing information, not useless drivel!!  I would enjoy hearing your comments on this.

Sincerely Bruce H Nelson

I also doubt very much if I would renew my membership, for the reasons mentioned."
