HERMAN SAGEMULLER WRITES FROM GERMANY - 5/71

Ferry, the inventor of the pyramid of cups is dead. On April 15th in Augsburg, Germany is the sudden death of the former juggler Ferry (Xaver) Mader. He was born on May 29th 1884 and has had a great love for the artistic. He comes not out of a family of artists,   In age of 19 he forsook his home and parents to become an artist, especially a juggler. With his talent he quickly was a good juggler and a performer in demand. In 1905 he performed the candlesticks trick. Also well known was his work with a 12 arm candlestick, top hats, and catching of 5 monocles with one eye and especially the pyramid of cups on the head, of which he is the inventor.  His work was always a novelty. At the age of 80 he made his last performance. Little Ferry was a great man and artist. All who have known him are never to forget him.

HAMILTON FLOYD WRITES 6/21/71

I would like to hear from all IJA members who deal in juggling props. Maybe I'll make a deal for one of them to handle my products. Or, if I put out a catalog of my own, I could include their products in it. We've got to keep new ideas coming along. I'll welcome letters from all who want to get into the act.

Hamilton Floyd,  San Antonio, Texas.

DOC CROSBY WRITES, CONT.

There was no dividing influence-we were a happy family, having the common affliction of "jugglitis." Jugglitis is the best affliction I ever had and I hope it becomes epidemic. Therefore, if the contest is a block in the way of jugglitis (and I have not seen such) let us eliminate it.

Yours in "Jugglitis Brotherhood," Wm.  H.  Crosby
