A site for the new juggling pavilion at the Bellyacres juggling
community in
Hawaii
had just been cleared as Benji Marantz spoke from there. He spent the
winter in
Hawaii
, but was on the way to Boston
for the summer. One of his first jobs was to choreograph a 20-minute
fire show as part of the Faneuil Hall Street Performers Festival on
Memorial Day. The festival, which included a performance by Tony
Montanaro, kicked off the street performers season at Faneuil Hall.
Marantz will be working in the region with Cyrus P. Koski, Flip and
Jeannie Wall. He and Wall present their torch passing routine as
"passions of flame." Marantz plays the part of Pierre
Escargot on a sixfoot unicycle. He passes passionately with Wall,
who kicks up a mighty high step as a French can-can dancer on
three-foot stilts - complete with fishnet stockings!
