* Sam Scurfield of the Bradford Jugglers in England (hosts for the upcoming European convention) claims to have set a new world record for three object juggling. Scurfield kept them up without a drop or rest for 6:24.50. It's not the first time he's set a superlative. Scurfield also claims the long-distance pogo stick record for a trip around Japan 's Mount Fuji , and he walked more than 30 miles with a full bottle of milk balanced on his head!

* Now in their 12th year of communal juggling, the Flying Karamazov Brothers are involved in several visual projects, including four specials for the Disney Channel, a network sitcom and a movie. The movie, tentatively titled, "The World of Mirth," reverses the Wizard of Oz plot.

The brothers start out in a weird world, but their bus spins out and they end up in

Kansas! They are also working on revising their new stage show, The Cabinet of Dr. Karamazov. An elaborate club passing routine should be part of it when it after Thanksgiving in Los Angeles.

* Philadelphia's Thien Fu performed on Carribean cruise ships for three months early in the year. As a matter of fact, he can rarely be found in Philadelphia at all! His travels during the past five years have taken him to 60 countries around the globe. His comedy juggling act includes doing three balls with a glass of ice water balanced on his head. He "drops" a ball and gets a laugh out of groping around for it without dropping the water glass. He gets an even bigger laugh as he reaches up into the glass and takes out an ice cube to replace the dropped ball in his juggle!

* Jeff Mason, last year's second place finisher in the US Nationals, will take a year off from competition this year. He says he wants to go to the Denver convention and "juggle to exhaustion. You have to save your energy if you're in the competition," he explained. Mason has moved from Pittsburgh back to Minneapolis, where he's working hard on three ball misdirection and disappearing catches in the armpits and back of his knee. "I want to make the audience wonder where the balls went and look like I'm wondering it, too," he said.

* Baltimore's Dana Tison has decided to follow a higher calling with his juggling and spend the summer using it to evangelize on the boardwalk in Wildwood, N.J..

"I don't see any other reason than to do it for God now," said the college freshman. Tison will be performing his five ball Mills Mess, seven balls and eight rings for the Campus Crusade for Christ. One unique trick he has recently added to his act is a three-part pirouette under a three club flash. On the first pirouette and flash he throws the clubs up with a triple spin. On the second he spins the clubs twice, and spins them just once on the third spin. The quick combination of the three moves creates a stunning display.

* The last issue of "Juggler's World" incorrectly listed Howard Wood's finish in the Virginia State Juggling Championships. Wood finished second, and we apologize for the error.

* Anthony Gatto is performing twice a night at the Union Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. He was recently featured on the cover of "38281 Contact" magazine, and appeared on the May 5 edition of television's "Will Shriner Show. " Besides performing a variety of complicated moves with lesser numbers of objects, Gatto continues to push the limits of numbers juggling. He has performed seven clubs and nine balls in his act since last November. His father, Nick, says Anthony is also juggling eight clubs, 10 balls and II rings in his workouts!

* The Catch It Quick Jugglers will be appearing at California 's Marin County Fair June 30-July 4. Si Bazis, Daryl Kuster and Michael Taylor say they're working more now on combination tricks involving rolling globes, unicycles and jump ropes. And they're "juggling all the while," of course!
