Juggler's World _____________________________________________________________________________
Spring 1995 Volume 47 No. 1
|
         features Our
undercover correspondent, Ernie Pyle, reports on midnight bowling at
the IJA's Winterfest in Las Vegas, just in time for you to prepare to
join legions of other jugglers for the "big show" this
          coming summer. It
takes more than five hours at each stop for old-style hoop roller
Carter Brown and his fellow troupers to unpack their show. Brown leads
this eightyear-old troupe in presenting traditional skills such as
juggling, acrobatics and table slides with modem technology such as
laser beam displays and black light puppetry.
 Casey
Boehmer and Dale Jones present different styles of juggling, but they
share the unique trademark of doing it with just one arm each. Rather
than viewing their non-traditional body symmetry as a disability, they
have enjoyed probing modes of manipulation two-handed jugglers never
          consider. 34
DEFINITELY NOT A TRADITIONAL JUGGLING SHOW Sara Felder's stage
skills help audiences appreciate her message about lesbianism, as she
presents its trials, tribulations and joys with juggling, balance,
          poetry and charm! 35
IN THE FUTURE, NO ONE BELIEVES ME Poor
Jay, juggler of the future, has a problem. In a world where anti-grav
is as easy to implement as flicking a Bic, no one believes in
juggling. Pat Hughes spins a tale of how the determined performer
convinces them of his talent. departments
