CORRECTION FROM BOBBY MAY

...I  worked on the bill at Empire Theatre Glasgow with "Martyn and Florence", Topper's Father and Mother.  Toppers Father originated the bounding clubs and invented other juggling novelties. He also was a very good prop builder.

ASBURY PARK REPORT BY JUDY BURGESS

It was a gorgeous day for juggling at the lovely home of the Whites in Asbury Park. They have 2 horses, numerous dogs, and a swimming pool - which the small children at the "Jug-in" loved. Those in attendance were Ernie Gruenbaum & Mary Lou Westerfield, (a dancer) from N.Y. city, Jerry & Effie Greenberg and their daughter Lisa from Brooklyn , Mr and Mrs. Willy Weinholdt and Ricky and Tommy (their sons), Joe and his sister Jan Temple, Jack & Danny from N. Jersey, Stu Raynolds with his three children Cathy, Bobby, and Jimmy, Roger Dollarhide, Bob Geer, John Teeple and his brother, Phil Berube, and Judy Burgess. The Whited' relatives and friends completed the group...

The Weinholdts, whose sons Ricky and Tommy can pass 7 clubs and are working on 8, are moving to Florida permanently. So this was a good time for us all to wish them luck and say how much we'll miss them at the New Jersey - New York Juggle-ins.

Jay and Effie Greenberg have a cute 3 and 6 club routine that Effie does very smoothly and naturally for someone only juggling a short time. Lisa will soon start passing to make a nice trio. Jay was also working on a pirouette while spinning a ball on his finger above his He throws a ball up from one hand, pirouettes, and catches it while keeping the other ball spinning.

Joe Temple passed and is working on new 3 club tricks. Jack and Danny are friends who sort of "guessed" how and pass 7 balls and 6 clubs right and left handed and received tips from Stu Raynolds about club making.  Stu also gave pointers to John Teeple about club weights and sizes.

Phil Berube, who has known the Whites for many years, was "chief cook and bottle washer", but he did find time to pass three clubs back and forth with none other than Mrs. White (who throws a pretty mean club). Stu Raynolds and Judy Burgess passed 8 clubs with double turns, then remembering that Eddie Tierney passes 8 with triple turns, tried that and it worked.

Mr. Tierney said it looks bigger with triples and most people agreed. 8 with triples is also a bit slower, much higher, and gentler. They used the junior Lind model Stu Raynolds club for this juggle and it works beautifully.

Bob Geer did magic and juggled. Ernie, a new member, is working on 6 balls, and Roger Dollarhide who claims he hasn't practiced in a while got some good runs with 7 balls. Roger also showed slides of the 72 convention and then took many orders for copies. We then left Saturday evening after a full, happy day of juggling.
