21 VEGAS - JUGGLING'S HOTTEST SPOT

The temperature outside kept the 585 registrants at the IJAS 48th Annual Festival inside this summer, but the sights couldn't have been better from a juggling perspective. Local luminaries joined an international cadre of talented performers for days and nights of the best juggling anywhere. Champion of them all turned out to be Francoise Rochais, an elegant French woman whose skill is "manifique!"

30 GATTO LOOKS BEYOND

Anthony Gatto proved to the Vegas crowd that he's still the best technical juggler anywhere, but the Las Vegas "home boy" spends time these days working toward an off-stage career. Would you hire this man to landscape your yard?

32 TINY JUNIORS GIANT EMERGES

Eleven-year-old Vladik Miagkostoupov reinforced the Russian mystique by presenting a complete package of beyond-his-years juggling skill and stage pizzazz to win the Juniors Championship. How many other people do you know who can play five club take-away with their dad?

34 THE CROWD'S FAVORITE CLOWN

John Gilkey came back from nine years of IJA retirement to find out for himself if he was on the right track in his performance career. The rubberfaced clown he presented on stage won universal adulation, as well as both the Founder's Award and People's Choice Award.
