January
16-18, 1998 The
47th Annual MadFest Juggling Festival will be in the Memorial Union
Great Hall, 800 Langdon St. on the campus of the University of
Wisconsin. Registration is free, except for the public show. Juggling
runs 5-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.- 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday. Once again, the 47tb Annual MadFest Juggling
Extravaganza will be at the Barrymore Theater, 2090 Atwood Avenue, at
7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 on the day of the
show. (Warning: For the last three years, all 800 tickets were sold in
advance.) Those wishing to perform should contact T.R. Loon. Contact:

January
30 - February 1 The 20th annual Groundhog Day Juggling Festival will be in the Grady High School girl's gym, 929 Charles Allen Drive (at the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Drive, on the edge of Piedmont Park). $10 registration. Competition for the famous Phil award is Saturday 2 p.m. Public show of past and present Phil Winners is at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Midnight Cabaret and associated party will be held nearby on Saturday night. Contact L.J. Purtee.

6-7, 1998 The
Texas Juggling Society's Fifth Annual Jugglefest will be in Bellmont
502 on the University of Texas campus. Registration is $2, and
juggling will be held from noon-6 p.m. each day. A free public show
will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Jester Auditorium on the campus.

Lucky 13th annual Winnipeg Juggling Festival will feature workshops,
games, prizes, special guests, commemorative t-shirts and a Saturday

29-June 1 The
jugglers of Stockholm present the 14th Nordic Juggling Convention with
great support from Cirkor and the city of Stockholm - Cultural Capitol
of Europe '98. The festival will be close to the city center at
Medborgarplatsen 2.

6 The
Reading Juggler's Club presents its Eighth Annual June Jugglefest at
Kutztown University's Schaeffer Auditorium, rain or shine! Events
begin at noon with workshops, open juggling, exhibitors and door
prizes. The "Show ofJuggling Stars" will be emceed by Jim

July
12-17, 1998 The
51st IJA Annual Festival will be held at the Primadonna Hotel and
Casino. Contact festival chair Ginny Rose; Montague MA.
August
3-8 The
1998 European Juggling Convention will be in Meadowbank Sports Centre
in Edinburgh, and coincide with the Edinburgh International Festival,
the largest performing arts festival in Europe and possible the world.
It begins the same day as the convention finishes, so festival
coordinator Johnny Hopper hopes all jugglers can come and visit
Edinburgh for four fun-packed weeks. Contact Dave Meah; or coordinator

October
9-12 The
1998 Lodi Juggling Festival will again be held at Micke Grove Park and
Zoo in Lodi. Camping, public show, barbecue, street performing and a
pervasive atmosphere of shared joy. Contact Andrew Conway; San
