'98 Board of Director Nominees

Andrew Conway

Save Club Renegade! As I write this in March, it seems there will be no Club Renegade in Primm. The IJA Board is demanding that all acts audition for the show and meet their standards for safety and taste. The Renegades won't agree. This is silly. I hope that when you read this, the issue has been resolved. If not, please vote for me, I will negotiate a settlement that ensures the acts are safe while preserving the spontaneous nature of Club Renegade. In any case, please vote for me for a more responsive and cost effective IJA.

Sam Kilbourn

Dear Members, You elected me two years ago and the Board has since elected me Chairman. This is a serious responsibility - running a non-profit corporation - and Fm giving it my best. Happily, my fellow Directors and our staff have been sharing the load with energy, honesty and commitment to doing what is best for the IJA. We have worked long and hard on the new magazine (see my Chairman's Report) and are excited about attracting new members with it. Meanwhile, I insist we juggle and have fun! Pm happy to serve again if you clip and mail your vote.

Bud Markowitz

The best part of my involvement with IJA is the people I've met - the thrill of promoting juggling and making every effort to improve the IJA.

I am a retired businessman with plenty of time to devote to the activities required of a Board member.

Right now I'm very involved in promoting juggling with the Special Olympics - a most exciting undertaking.

Look for me in my next movie "The Other Sister" where I play a juggling teacher!

With all my enthusiasm for juggling, my only regret is I still can't do five balls. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you!

Perry Rubenfeld

In ten years serving on the BOD, I have served as affiliates, education, and membership directors. I was also Chairman of the Board from 1991 to 1997. I have had the opportunity to be part of the development of the IJA in every area. I have been through good and bad times, and continue to believe that the vast majority of IJA members support the current direction of the organization.

I believe the IJA is on the right path regarding policies and plans for our future. If you agree, I hope you will support me and the other incumbent directors.

Rick Rubenstein

I have been an active member of the IJA for over a decade, and have seen the world of juggling grow and change. Unfortunately, the IJA has not always grown and changed with it.

For years, jugglers have made excellent suggestions for such things as increasing membership, improving Jugglers World, and making conventions more fun and less expensive, yet little seems to get done. It is time the IJA Board begins truly responding to the needs and wants of its members. As a Board member, I will do two things the Board has not always done: listen, and act.

Steve Salberg

I have served the Board since 1991 and have been intimately involved in its continuing evolution from "a club in the backyard" to a large, professionally run organization. On the Board I serve as "the moderate", a voice of reason and common sense.

I am responsible for the establishment of the IJA's presence on the internet. I presently serve as webmaster, maintaining the structure and content of the site. I also serve as Director of video production and as the liaison to the Guinness Book of World Records. Mail in a vote for continued IJA growth and professionalism.
