  • The first count in each cell is the number of magazines mailed. 6
  • Any count after a slash (/) is the number of actual members there were among those who were mailed the magazine.
  • Any count after a plus (+) is the number of additional members who didn't receive a magazine because we don't have a valid address for them. 6
  • The last count in each cell (starting Jan/Feb 2001) is the number of youth members at that time.
  • The date is when the JUGGLE mailing list was generated -- the date when there were the indicated number of members (subject to the notes below).
  • As of Sep/Oct 2004, the magazine is only mailed to memberships that will not have expired as of the first day of the magazine issue's cover date (e.g., Sep. 1 for the Sep/Oct issue). Note that the mailing list is generated about 3 weeks before that date (on the date shown in each box).

Notes:

  1. No JUGGLE magazines were published with these dates.
  2. The first two issues of JUGGLE ever produced were sent not just to current members at the time but to all who had been members within the previous two years. The numbers for these first two issues include those extra copies and thus do not directly represent membership levels.
  3. These issues were published from a few to several weeks late and thus represent membership levels somewhat later in the year than the corresponding issues of subsequent years.
  4. This membership count was generated on 9/22/03, but also included expired memberships that had expired between 7/1/03 and 9/22/03, since there was no magazine mailed in July 2003. Since such expired memberships would normally have received a July 2003 magazine, they were mailed the combined July/Aug/Sep/Oct 150%-size issue in September. (And no renewal reminder postcards had been mailed during the previous three months or so anyway, with the result that some members who would have renewed during that period hadn't.)
  5. The larger count (and the sole count for youth members) is the number of magazines mailed, including those to memberships that expired within approximately the previous 60 days. The smaller count is the approximate actual number of unexpired memberships to which the magazine was mailed.
  6. There are generally a number of members who have moved without giving us their new address. We thus mail fewer magazines than we might if we had their addresses. Those members are, however, included in the actual memberships counts here, just not in the mailed magazine counts. As of May 2004, there are about 24 such members with missing addresses.
