IJA Board Meeting - Oct. 8, 2002Present at the meeting were - Chairman: Paul Richmond; Directors: Jaye Butler, David Davis, Andy Ford, Art Jennings, Bill Ritchie, Ben Schoenberg, Scott Slesnick; Officers: Norman Schneiderman, General Manager, Richard Dingman, Secretary/Treasurer; Becky Schneiderman, Recorder. Roll was called During roll call, Davis stated he was present but under protest, "at this point I protest that this meeting was called without proper notice" Agenda Approve minutes Staff Reports Confidential Statement Policies Committees Dan Holzman' proposal Expectations of Board members, our use of the inter net Old business / Chair report Butler notes for the record that she received proper notice. MOTION Slesnick moves that we officially call this meeting a special meeting of the board of directors. AMENDMENT Butler amends that we will officially accept the meeting as a meeting of the board to carry on business. Ritchie seconds Slesnick accepts the amendment VOTE Butler for, Davis for, Ford for, Jennings for, Richmond for, Ritchie for, Schoenberg for, Slesnick for Motion carries MOTION Richmond moves that the agenda item about discussion on the discussion forum be moved up on the agenda sometime during the meeting. Butler seconds Amendment Slesnick amends that this discussion be between the staff reports and confidentiality statement with a time limit of 15 minutes. Butler seconds Richmond accepts amendment VOTE Schoenberg abstain, Davis abstain, Butler for, Ford for, Jennings for, Richmond for, Ritchie for, Slesnick for Motion carries Agenda accepted MOTION Richmond moves to accept the minutes of June 25, 2002. Ritchie seconds MOTION Richmond moves to table this motion to the next meeting. Slesnick seconds VOTE No objections Motion carries MOTION Richmond moves we accept the minutes of July 19, 2002. Slesnick seconds MOTION Richmond moves we accept the minutes of July 19, 2002, with the proposed amendments. Butler seconds VOTE No objections Motion carries MOTION Richmond moves to accept the October 1, 2002, minutes. Amendment Davis amends that we remove all discussion from the minutes except where it is stated "for the record". Jennings seconds Richmond calls vote on the amendment VOTE Butler abstain, Davis for, Ford abstain, Jennings for, Richmond opposed, Ritchie opposed, Schoenberg for, Slesnick for Amendment carries Richmond restates motion to accept minutes of October 1, 2002. Amendment Slesnick moves to remove the "hanging" motion. Richmond accepts amendment Richmond restates motion to accept the minutes Slesnick seconds VOTE No objections Motion carries MOTION Slesnick moves that the board draft a consensus response to the post #3140 on the discussion page. Richmond seconds Amendment Slesnick amends that Davis will do initial draft, Butler will work on it from there and submit it to the board, and the board will approve via internet within 72 hours. Davis seconds VOTE No objections Motion carries MOTION Richmond moves to remove the post. Ritchie seconds Amendment Slesnick amends that if removed that a paraphrase of the objectionable material be placed on the forum upon removal. Richmond accepts amendment VOTE Butler for, Davis opposed, Ford opposed, Jennings opposed, Richmond for, Ritchie for, Schoenberg opposed, Slesnick abstain Motion fails For the record, Ritchie points out that "I'm ashamed of whoever voted against that" For the record, Schoenberg states "I'd like to see that our response put this original post in its place where it belongs, put it down." MOTION Richmond moves that the Holtzman proposal is within the realm of the fest coordinators job description. Slesnick seconds Butler calls the question VOTE Butler for, Ford for, Ritchie for, Davis for, Schoenberg for, Jennings for, Richmond for, Slesnick for Motion carries Richmond calls a meeting for October 15, 2002, 9:pm ET. Butler leaves at 11:22 ET Motion Richmond moves to adjourn. Davis seconds VOTE No objections Meeting adjourns 11:26 ET |
