MINUTES FROM IJA BOARD MEETING CONFERENCE CALL
MAY 9, 2000

1. Welcome Paul Richmond
2. Changes to the By-Laws
MOTION: To update wording in the by-laws as follows
Article II - Members, paragraph 2. Individual Members.
Delete the second sentence: The class of Individual
membership shall then be divided into two subclasses - Regular and
Life, determinant upon dues paid.
Article II - Members, paragraph 3. Family Members.
Each individual member of the immediate family of a Family
Membership whose name, family relationship, and age are submitted with
the family membership application shall be entitled to all privileges
of membership except that the Family Membership shall be collectively
entitled to only one vote and only one copy of the Corporation's
Publication shall be mailed to each Family Membership.
Article II - Members, paragraph 10.(b). Method of Voting.
(ii.) Mailing an absentee ballot which the Corporation will send
to all voting members and which is received by the Corporation by the
deadline indicated on the ballot....

3. Secretary Report
All is going well with the new computer equipment and software.
Membership is up slightly from last period.
4. CAO Report
Distributors are being contacted in an effort to put JUGGLE out on the
newsstand.
5. Videographer for Summer Festival 2000
Efforts are being made to secure a suitable videographer.
MOTION: To hire Alan Plotkin as videographer for Summer Festival
2000
MOTION NOT CARRIED
6. World Juggling Day
Due to a change in staffing, World Juggling Day will be scaled
down this year, with progress being made to bring it back up to its
intended splendour next year, tentatively scheduled for June 16, 2001.
7. Investment of funds
Investment options are being explored to optimise IJA assets.
8. Posting of the Insider on the web page
Tabled.
9. Insider Editor
MOTION: To hire Laurie Chamberlain-Martin as editor of the Insider,
subject to the outcome of an interview with Perry.
