Welcome to Lexington, Kentucky

Located at the heart of Central Kentucky's famed scenic Bluegrass region, Lexington is known around the world for its role in producing champion racehorses and fine bourbon. The downtown has many restaurants located within a short walking distance from the Hyatt and Convention Center. Lexington's central location makes an ideal base from which to explore the entire Bluegrass region. Within a short drive you'll find pioneer forts, outdoor theatres, crafts fairs, historic railways, scenic byways and much more. Drop by www.visitlex.com for more info.

Juggle in the Lexington Convention Center

The Lexington Convention Center is in the heart of Lexington's historic downtown, in the center of Kentucky, and in the center of 75% of the population of the United States, at the intersection of I-64 and I-75. The Convention Center is connected to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and offers over 100,000 square feet of well lit, climate-controlled juggling space. The main juggling space of 30,000 square feet will feature both carpet (one color) and smooth concrete. Nearby are retail boutiques, restaurants and many entertainment opportunities all within easy walking distance. The IJA has arranged for free wireless Internet access for jugglers in the Convention Center.

Lexington Opera House

The Lexington Opera House is known as one of the premiere performing arts centers in the region. Seating over 1000, the distinctively 19th century flavor found in the original Opera House is one of the most charming features of this restored theatre. Plush decor, red velvet curtains and golden ornamental plaster castings adorn the grand stairway, the proscenium and the queen boxes. This fully modernized theater is the perfect showcase for our lineup of first-class competitions and performances.

Volunteers

The IJA is an all-volunteer organization. This means we need YOU to help make the fest a smooth running experience for all of us. If you can share a little time at the fest, please contact festvolunteers.

Workshops

The festival will be packed with dozens of one-hour workshops each day from Tuesday morning to Saturday afternoon. Featuring a wide range of props, skill levels and styles, all workshops are free and open to festival registrants (except the special three-day Juggling University workshop). Interested in sharing your skills? Contact Workshop Coordinator Chuck Hawley at workshops.

IJA Auction

No item is too old – or too odd – for this year's annual auction. Donate an item by contacting auction, or just show up and bid on juggling articles, props, memorabilia and photos. Proceeds will benefit the IJA Archives Fund.

Vendors

The main gym will be home to a wide variety of vendors selling props, clothing, jewelry, toys, books, videos and more. Vendor spaces are available on the registration form. Each person working in the gym as a vendor needs either an Event Package or Gym Admission. For more information contact vendors.

Annual Business Meeting

At noon on Wednesday, you'll meet candidates for the Board of Directors, discuss ideas to improve the IJA, and more!

DVD Special

Each person getting an Event Package can also buy the Championships and Highlights DVD 2-Pack for the very low price of only $15. DVDs will be shipped directly to you after production in the fall of 2008.

Spectator Passes

Spectator passes are $5/day per person for the general public and non-juggling relatives or friends of registered jugglers. Spectator passes provide gym access for watching juggling and browsing the booths. They do not include admission to any shows.
